Rowing In College

Many of our athletes have continued to pursue their passion in rowing at the collegiate level. In fact almost 40% of our graduates in the past 5 years have gone on to row in college!

Some have received scholarships, others have walked on or rowed with a club program. All of them have found an instant community and family the moment they stepped on to campus. Girls who row are more likely to get a scholarship to college than any other high school sport, and it isn’t even close.

Below you can find a not quite exhaustive list of all of the colleges that offer rowing at the collegiate level. Although Women’s rowing is a NCAA sport, Men’s rowing, having been around since the 1800’s, long before the NCAA existed, remains steadfastly outside of the NCAA umbrella. However, there are scholarship opportunities for both men and women, although women enjoy far more options for money than men. And both men and women have a ton of club opportunities.

Don’t be fooled by a team being a “club”. Many club teams are extremely competitive and expect a high degree of commitment and determination to excel. On the flip side, not all Division I programs are the same, you can be D1 and not be the top rower in the country.
